Uncle Lewis, I thought I asked you to take the Christmas tree down?!?
Uncle Lewis: The needles fall off when I touch it. Plus, I just sat down to watch my shows!
What shows?!?
Uncle Lewis?!?……
Oh, never mind, you old poop…
As you can see, folks, we’re still “de-Christmas-ing” here at Miracle on 32nd Street. We’ve sported a beautiful Vermillion Christmas theme here on Word Press for the past two months, and, with a week of 2011 under our belts, I think it’s high time to redecorate, don’t you?
After perusing the hundreds of themes Word Press proudly supports, I’ve managed to select three finalists as successors to my holiday theme. The problem is, each theme offers something different, both visually and technically.
“HELP! I NEED SOMEBODY!” Well, actually, I DO need your assistance! I turn to you, my well-versed and logical readers. Which theme do you think appeals to your senses the most (excluding the sense of smell…the scratch & sniff theme didn’t seem to work)? Is it…
#1: Misty Air
#2: Spring Loaded
…or…
#3: Ocean Mist
I honestly was very taken with Spring Loaded, #2, but I’m not so sure if I’m wild about a patch of grass taking up part of my banner. I love the originality in that theme, but am taken with the simplicity of #s 2 and 3.
I need some help with my decision! I’m a swayer who needs to be swayed! So, what do you YOU think? Which theme peaks your interest as a blogger, reader, or web surfer? Send me off a quick comment, and let me know what you think!
Now, to rouse Uncle Lewis…where’s that air horn?…..

My first instinct was spring loaded, then I read your comment. Ha.

Right on! I was leaning towards the autumn-background theme, but I love the look of Spring Loaded’s posts!

My favorite is Misty Air. I’ve used this theme before and like it for it’s clean look and the fact that the header is customizable. I take a lot of pictures and like to post my own photos in the header.

That’s another reason why I picked that theme…I do like the option of changing your picture header. Who knows? Maybe I’ll change my blog to that for the summer season!

I like Spring Loaded and here is why:
1>Every other blog that is mediocre uses Misty Air. This is not a Mediocre Blog. You stand apart from the pack. You need to emphasize that.
2>Misty Air although calm and serene is lovely, it doesn’t seem to fit your personality of hilarity and fun-loving. You make me think of bright colours.
3>I know you aren’t wild about the wild patch of grass…I’m sure you male readers are 😉
4>Ocean Mist reminds me of Naked Bokkie over at husbands4hire, another fun blog I read yet completely different from yours in tone and style.
5>It’s your blog. You are destined for greatness. Pick what makes you happy so your greatness isn’t stifled.

Your comment made me smile for so many reasons! And quite honestly, it has really swayed my decision…I think I will go with Spring Loaded for now, unless I really crave to add a personal header at the top.
I make you think of bright colors? Shucks…I am really blushing right now 🙂

I’m brand new here, Aunt Bethany, (thanks to eduClaytion) so I don’t have as informed a perspective as most, but here goes…
Although I like the two mist-related themes, when I hear Miracle On 32nd Street I picture something more urban. And from what I’ve experienced of your personality so far, I expect your theme to be playful, fun, maybe even a bit quirky (in a good way, of course).
So, of the three here, # 2 would be my pick. Hope this helps. Whatever you pick, I’ll still subscribe!

Thanks, Larry! I am so happy to have a new face around this blog! And thanks for subscribing…I do think I am going to go with Spring Loaded. I love the way the posts display with it.
So glad you found your way here from Clay’s site (I kind of bow down to him). I’ll be looking forward to more comments from you!

I changed the theme, you old coot!

Theme????? Theme?? Who’s that?
Posted by auntbethany on January 9, 2011 at 11:16 pm
I’m switching to a different theme…John…Guido…Rocco…don’t know which yet.

I think I like Misty Air the best, but they’re all nice.

I may switch to that theme in the summer, ’cause I really like the ability to change the top header photograph. But thanks for your input, Angie!
